Our story

A few years ago we packed up our life in India and moved to the Netherlands. Like most people, we underestimated just how much there was to figure out. A BSN? A DigiD? Why did everyone need an IBAN before we could do anything at all?

We did it as a family, and we did it properly: found a home, got the kids settled into school, learned the supermarket, survived the first grey winter, and even brought our dog over from India (one of the trickiest and most rewarding things we've done). Every single step taught us something the internet hadn't.

So we started filming our journey and sharing it on YouTube, in Telugu, for our community back home and across the world. This website is the next step: the same honest, hard-won advice, written up and fact-checked, in English so it helps everyone making the move.

What this site is

A warm, practical, up-to-date guide to moving to and living in the Netherlands, from a family who actually did it. We fact-check the money and legal bits against official sources and date every guide, because rules here change and stale advice is worse than none.

What it isn't

We're not lawyers, tax advisers or relocation agents, and nothing here is professional advice. Think of it as a knowledgeable friend pointing you in the right direction. Always double-check your own situation against the official sources we link to.
